Sabah 2019 Day 5

14-8-2019

Family photo at Desa Dairy... Oops! Too hot!

Out of the many location of Kundasang, we have chosen Desa Dairy Farm and Strawberry Farm. According to the web, Desa Dairy is a must go place in Kundasang, it gives a New Zealand feel due to the cow species, but we end up to have different tough from the web. While Strawberry Farm was selected to let the kids explore new thing, however kids enjoy some other thing when we were there :). We have less visiting destination on this day but spend more time relaxing in the hostel enjoying the scenery. We even stand a chance to enjoy our afternoon tea break each of every day from this trip.

This was the morning view of Mt Kinabalu from our balcony. The white color building seems like Laban Rata, however we were unsure about it... Anyway, its just beautiful.

 Morning snack!

It was good to have this chess set for kids to calm down... Let them calm down and concentrate. A pair of in house slipper is always good to have during your travel, especially on your long journey plane or hostel stay. It can keep your leg off from dirty ground/ cool ground, it warms your feet as well.

This homestay was beautiful and we love it! Place could be better if more kitchen facility were provided.

 All kinds of pattern!

Observing the villager lifestyle by the stall... The chicken running around and the kids playing around. We were surprise to see the Malays villager were speaking mandarin not only to the tourist but to their children as well.

This guy likes to sit on my shoulder!

Desa Dairy Farm was about 10 minutes from Anjung Rehat Jamsari, therefore we can be there early to avoid the tourist congestion. However the place was too small for the huge crowd to be there and the facility were not ready to accommodate the amount of tourist from both local and international. RM 5 entrance fee per head count, no tourist guide provided, food for cow feeding were charge separately. Other than that, any other food and beverage were extra charge and long queue! Kids enjoy feeding the cow and sheep.

New Zealand cow, to be specific its call transgenic cow.

Kids love cow feeding

The cow seems hungry! No lah, every cow has 4 stomachs. It kept all the food into the stomachs and will digest later during its rest time.

Milk bottle... feeding grass was not the first time experience but feeding milk with milk bottle was the first time. Careful when feeding the cow, it will pull off the entire bottle!

Sheep does not like cow milk, they have their own goat milk which the price is much more expensive compare to cow milk and it is much more nutritious!

Needs help from parents to bring the bottle high up to let the milk drip down to feed the cow.

Finally a photo of me feeding the cow!

This group of people were observing cow passed out!

Self cleaning machine. Whenever the cow pushed the brush roller, the motor will spin the brush roller to clean the cow. Look at its body!

With kids around, it was hard to have nice self portrait picture, not all the time they cooperate with you... who cares right? That was the moment we should capture it.

Were they under control?

While waiting for the Desa Dairy product, lets enjoy the view of field with cows... nice right?

In actual!

These were the yogurts... Strawberry and blueberry... Taste good!

Desa yogurt ice-cream, recommended! Taste good.

Kids enjoy Chocolate ice-cream more!

 BFF! Best Friend Forever!

Everyone make some noise! Group photo... Discovery Rendezvous

Family photo of course!

Great group outing and always happy together. More excitement to come!

Strawberry Farm was an added program on this trip specially for our children. We believed that they will be enjoying plugging the strawberry but ended up we did not even seen a single strawberry but we learned something new and the children were enjoying the Dandelion.

There was a very nice children playground... They just loved it!

This was the first time we have seen the rosemary plant and the asparagus plant.

This is a nice playground and very relaxing especially with its weather and the facility.

This guy just can't wait to rest at this beautiful garden! Peace of mind and great refreshing.

They found the Dandelion fun... ended up all the Dandelion were plug by them to blow!

This was the only red strawberry that we found in the entire farm. Oops! Should say the only Strawberry and not "not even a single strawberry"!

Other than strawberry, everything were beautiful there!

This Benjamin Hotel serve delicious food. It is a recommended place for lunch. The environment were great too. It was just few meters away from the strawberry farm.

Nicely decorated with the natural beauty of flowers

This environment is beautiful and the price for food was reasonable as well. For a relaxing holiday, this place is recommended as well but the distance was a little far from Kundasang Market.

We spent the entire afternoon for the relaxing session and children bonding time together in the home stay. Card games, chess and tea break with fruits were serve!

This was the cafe we visited for most of our breakfast and dinner. The food were delicious, especially the Maggi Goreng! There were durian available as well.

 Maggi Goreng that we loved!

Here was the master chef that craft the yummy yummy!

Uno time!

Day 5 was an free and easy trip whereby we were stationed at the top of Mersilau. We missed the War Museum, we found that there were nothing much to visit and children were not at the correct age to visit the War Museum. Desa Dairy Farm was only so so, if we were compare to Agrodome, New Zealand trip back in 2017, which was much more educational! However the entrance fees does not cause much, it was still a great experience for cow feeding.

We will be leaving for Poring on Day 6, and can't wait for the rabbit farm visiting...
