Je Junior.

Since the day we had confirmed that je junior is a boy, we have been finding the best name for him. From the Hainanese family tradition, we have to follow the family name order. Which means every family will have 12 generation middle name to follow. For example, my dad name "开"(Kai) and followed by us "业"(Ye) and my son name is "昌" (Chang). The surname which also call family name is "陈" (Chen, therefore my son name gonna be 陈昌_. We have to figure out the last name of my son. The word “昌” means "昌盛" (chang1 sheng4) which means prosperity. Thus we will not include the following name "盛" into the consideration because it carries the same meaning.

After we have a few choice of selection, we finally decided the following name to be "熙" (xi1) with the meaning healthy, transparency and harmony. The moment when my beloved wife has him in the stomach, he has bring us a lot of joy, happiness and harmonic to my family. Perhaps I wish my son will be a great leader. More over, my father wish the name has something to do with harmony. With the powerful of Chinese character, it gives my son a very meaningful name: 陈昌熙 (Chen2 Chang1 Xi1). The pronunciation sounds like 康熙 (Kang1 Xi1). Kang xi was one of the greatest and longest reigning Chinese Emperor in China, 61 years. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kangxi_Emperor)

Mandarin name has already complete, but English name has yet to confirm. In Hokkien dialect, "xi' read close to "si" (死) which means dead!It is not a good practice for Chinese to have a dead words in name. As from our point of view, we are Hainanese and we should follow the Hainanese pronunciation. The word "熙" should have pronounce as "Hee" in Hainan. Therefore, we had chosen the name for je junior as Tan Chong Hee.

Below is the video capture on 8-10-2011 afternoon. He was sleeping sweetly. Enjoy.
