MCO day 61 (17 May 2020)
Spend some time at
home, and buying something everyone likes especially the kid: Chocolate Cake.
You don’t to buy cake on some one’s birthday or anniversary. You can just buy
cake to make everyone happies. It was just simple theory. Look at him… seems
like he was celebrating his birthday.
Education corner is ready to provide them some tuition. Small white board for me to perform teaching to my sons on their school work.
As a reward, she cooked me a Fu Yong Dan, Hainanese fried egg. Egg only, already made my day.
MCO day 62 (18 May
2020)
Today my feature back
to Lego playground. I could not purchase all kind of Lego sets for my sons but
the Lego parts that they have should be able to allow them to assemble a
similar Lego set as per in the sample and they were creative enough to amaze me
with their engineering work with Hainanese commentator.
MCO day 63 (19 May
2020)
Intend to repair my
charcoal filter for my cooker hook, the price for a replacement charcoal filter
is ridiculous. RM 135 per charcoal filter from the original, instead, online
shopping was one of the best idea, it only cost me RM 16 including shipping
fees and I get my cooker hook charcoal filter alternative solution.
He was trained to handle knife at this age… do you think is it too early?
MCO day 64 (20 May
2020)
Nothing special today…
just enjoy one of my favourite beer!
MCO day 65 (21 May
2020)
It was his birthday
eve! Time to make him a birthday cake. He was so happy to help up in the
kitchen. The end result is not important but the process of getting the result
is the moment that engrave in our memory.
MCO day 66 (22 May
2020)
The day has comes, it
was his birthday. He has been waiting for the entire day from wake up until we
came back from home… His smile and laugh was the happiest thing that cheer
everyone up.
We prepared each and
every portion of the small birthday party by ourselves and all are home made.
Birthday Oreo Cheese Cake, Korean Fried Chicken, German Pork Knuckle, Italian
Garlic Bread. Other than food and beverage, present also made his day happier
until at night. Instead of wrap the present for him but hide the present in the
box and let him open the box. He was very happy to found his present in the
box, the Lego compatible Army group with all the weapons. While his
grandparents present him a Lego truck.
His smile and laughter on his birthday made all of us happy for him. Wish him stay happy forever and become a great leader in future.
MCO day 67 (23 May 2020)
He mentioned to me
that the truck was not attractive and they browsed from the internet for the
e-instruction booklet and reassemble to F1 racer. Make full use of the
internet!
MCO day 68 (24 May
2020)
Garden Phase 2
completed with black plastic cover to avoid cats but it has just invited more
mosquito to the place. This idea is a failure, need to look for solution.
MCO day 69 (25 May
2020)
Took some time on this
hot day and start up my private pool at home and relax ourselves from the busy
work. And I got a reward from neighbor today with Chicken feet… love it! No one
in the family eat chicken feet, they all are mine!
MCO day 70 (26 May
2020)
After some time of
supervising him from cooking egg, he is now able to fried egg by himself. He
loves to cook as well. His cooking skill is great! Now he cooked for his
brother.
MCO day 71 (27 May
2020)
I am bless that I was
born in Malaysia with the beauty of King of fruit is around me. Miss it so
much.
MCO day 72 (28 May
2020)
This was the last day
of assembling the Lego back to its original model. We spent lots of time in
searching back the missing parts and to ensure the new and old Lego part to
assemble. Manage to catch back a lot of the parts. The end results we can see
that there were some parts missing however we have a good bonding time
together.
MCO day 73 (29 May
2020)
Just in time to get my
phase 2 project 90% completed. We changed the back yard balcony and back door
grille during this MCO period. These are beyond my DIY tools that can do and we
have no choice but to engage vendor for makeover. Previous pull up door was too
heavy and dangerous. A slip of opening may break your finger and 1st
floor grille was made of metal and it becomes rusty. Change from metal grille
to aluminum grille with stainless steel rod enforcement will be great for
permanent and maintenance free solution. Unfortunately the old awning with the
cheap plastic and silicon glue has torn off and cause the water leaking.
Whenever thunderstorm or heavy rain in the middle of the night, I have to woke
up to clean and clear the rain water dripping in. Next phase of high cost
project is essential to complete all the phase 2 projects.
MCO day 74 (30 May
2020)
It has been 73 days
that my kids have not gone out of the house. The pandemic cases has gone down a
lot and the restriction of travelling has been remove. Bigger boundary of
travelling was allow. I decided to bring my family for a ride and round around
the Bayan Lepas area. Let them enjoy and feel the freedom to drive around. They
were so happy and seeing things back to normal. I believed my kids missing the
street view.
Unfortunately when we
were driving around, we saw some road blocks were added and police has been
interviewing each and every driver on their purpose of going out. We decided to
cut short the trip to avoid unnecessary problems. Head back home at around 9pm.
MCO day 75 (31 May
2020)
On this special day, I
got durian! Haha. It was the first time buy vegetable free durian. Can see how
that how important is to have friends and network around. I believe that is
friend price… very nice of her.
MCO day 76 (1 June
2020)
Today mark the end of
the MCO whereby I have begun to go to work every day. I have recorded all the
76 days of my MCO dairy at home. After all it was still not that boring that I
only shows food in my blog but all kinds of activities with family, children,
myself, house DIY and also renovation projects.
Save a lot of fuel due to work from home. Due to the pandemic and company does not allow us to work on OT, my colleague and I decided to car pool to work. It saves petrol, mileage and also tol, and we cut to half on our monthly expenses. What a great saving!
This MCO period was taught and also change our lifestyle from luxuries to basic and make the best out of simple. We cooked nice food, worldwide cuisine out of available ingredient and increase our cookery menu. It also gave me the chance to repair a lot of my household, bring them to alive and improvement project. So far I have done the folding table for kitchen table extension, replace my grille, brought my Altec Lansing speaker alive, repair Rubbermaid mop, build my phase 2 vegetable garden, renovate and change my awning (after the MCO), built the coffee table, install the fan at my car porch and shellac the wood. Completed 100% of Phase 2 house project during the RMCO. We spent more time with children. Now I am proceeding to my Phase 3 projects. Self-improvement and outdoor activities. More to come!
Recreate Hokkien Mee, and finally 80% success.
